Release Music With Your AI Agent

You don’t have to open ONCE to release music. Connect ONCE to the AI agent or chatbot you already use, sign in with your ONCE account once, and ask it to put out your song. It builds the release, checks with you before anything goes out, and ONCE delivers it to the stores. Pricing is the same as in the app: 1 credit per human song, 2 per AI song.

Each agent has its own page on once.app with setup steps and an FAQ: once.app/agents.

If a client asks for a transport, choose Streamable HTTP. Sign-in is OAuth: you log in to ONCE in your browser and never type your password into a chat.

ChatGPT and OpenAI dots

  1. In ChatGPT, open Apps and add ONCE.
  2. Sign in with your ONCE account.
  3. Ask: “how are my releases doing?”

Every dot you make uses the apps you’ve added to ChatGPT, so adding ONCE once gives every dot access. Give a dot a job like “watch my releases and tell me when every store has them.”

Not seeing ONCE under Apps? Use Developer Mode: the steps are on Agent Setup.

ChatGPT shows your releases, store status and streams as cards in the chat, and you can attach audio or cover art straight into the conversation. Credits are bought in the ONCE app, not inside ChatGPT.

Claude and Claude Duet

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Add ONCE, or choose Add custom connector and paste https://beta.once.app/api/mcp/claude.
  3. Sign in with your ONCE account, then start a chat: “what’s live on ONCE right now?”

Claude Duet picks up the connectors you’ve added in Claude. Ask it to “get my next single ready” and it drafts the release from your notes, shows exactly what it will send to ONCE, and waits for your approval. ONCE in Claude doesn’t generate cover art.

Gemini

  1. On gemini.google.com, open Settings → Connected Apps.
  2. Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app and paste https://beta.once.app/api/mcp.
  3. Approve the connection and sign in with your ONCE account.

Then ask Gemini on the web or in its app to release a song, check which stores are live, or show your numbers.

Meta Muse and Grok Bot (coming soon)

ONCE is waiting on listing in the Muse connector directory and the Grok Bot plugin marketplace. Once it’s listed you’ll add ONCE from each app’s connectors, sign in, and ask from the Muse app, WhatsApp or the Grok Bot app. The pages at once.app/muse and once.app/grokbot will switch to setup steps when they’re live.

What your agent can do

  • Build a release (title, artist, tracks, writers, genre, release date) and check it against the store metadata rules (Things to Know) before it goes out
  • Submit it to every store ONCE delivers to, or just the ones you pick
  • Check delivery status store by store
  • Tell you when it expects the release to go live, and when it is (see below)
  • Report streams for one release or your whole catalog
  • Save a draft and keep filling it in over several messages
  • Scan a track for AI before you submit it
  • Generate cover art (not in Claude or Claude Duet)

Knowing when you’re live

Ask your agent “when will my release be live?” It calls get_once_info with the release, which puts the turnaround rule from Releasing Music next to your release: stores usually take 1 to 3 business days after delivery, and a release with a future date is held until that date. You get an expected window, the stores that are already live, and a time to check again. Proactive agents (dots, Duet, Muse, Grok Bot) can check back on their own and tell you the moment every store has it.

The same tool answers general questions from these docs, like “can I change my release date?” or “how do payouts work?”

You stay in charge

Every one of these agents asks before it acts on your behalf, and putting music on Spotify counts. Nothing goes to the stores until a release is submitted, and you can take a release down whenever you want.
